Shepperton Village Fair Website Terms and Conditions

About these terms

Last updated: 15 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Shepperton Village Fair website at shepperton-fair.org. The website is owned and run by Shepperton Village Fair Ltd, a non-profit making company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales under company number 14681463, with its registered office at 1 Bruce Avenue, Shepperton TW17 9DP. When we say “we” or “us”, that is who we mean.

Some parts of the Fair have their own rules, which apply in addition to these terms. They include the Information, Rules and Conditions for Stallholders, the Raft Race Rules and Conditions and the rules of the Photographic Competition. If one of those conflicts with these terms for the activity it covers, the specific rules win.

Using the website

Please use the website for what it is meant for: finding out about the Fair and taking part in it. You must not:

  • use it in breach of the law or of these terms
  • publish or send anything through it that contains malicious software, or that links to such software
  • collect data from it by automated means, or use data collected from it for direct marketing
  • do anything that could damage the website or interfere with how it works for other people
  • try to get around any restriction on access to it.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, including through this website, and what your rights are. It is there to inform you. Visiting this website or getting in touch with us does not mean you have agreed to it, and you do not need to accept it in order to use the website.

When you complete one of our forms, please make sure the information you give is accurate and up to date.

We use cookies and similar technologies on the website. Essential cookies keep the site working. We use optional cookies only if you say yes through our cookie banner, and you can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings on the site. Our Cookie Policy gives the details.

Communicating with you

We may reply to your enquiries, and send you messages about things you have asked for, such as a stall booking, a raft race entry or a competition entry, by email or through the website. Those messages count as written communications.

We send marketing by email, text, phone or post only if you have told us you are happy to receive it, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains how.

Intellectual property and material you send us

We or our licensors own the copyright and other intellectual property rights in the website and its content, including the text, logos, design and photographs, unless it says otherwise. All rights are reserved.

You are welcome to view the website, share links to it and quote short extracts with credit, as the law allows. Please ask us before you copy, adapt, distribute or use anything else from it commercially.

Material you send us. If you send us photographs, text or other material, you keep the rights in it. You give us permission to use it only as described in the rules of the activity you are taking part in (the Photographic Competition rules, for example), or as you tell us when you send it. Where we use a photographer’s work, we credit them.

Information on the website, and links to other websites

We do our best to keep the website accurate and up to date, but details such as times, acts, stalls and routes can change, so please check close to the day. Nothing on the website is legal, financial or medical advice. If you need advice, please consult a suitable professional.

The website contains links to other websites, including those of our sponsors, and to our social media pages. We do not control or review those sites, and they have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or for how they use your information, so please read what they say.

Availability and our responsibility

You can use the website free of charge. We try to keep it running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time, and we are not liable to you for doing so.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not a foreseeable result of something we did wrong, for loss of profit, business or data, or for anything caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Raffle tickets, stall bookings, raft race entries and other purchases or entries made through the website are covered by their own conditions, and this section does not reduce your rights under them.

If these terms are broken, and general provisions

If you break these terms, we may suspend or block your access to the website and take other reasonable steps to protect it.

These terms, together with any specific rules mentioned above, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the website. If any part of them is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a provision straight away, we have not given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. These terms and any notices we send are in English.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example if the law or the website changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated, and changes apply from the date we post them. If you carry on using the website after that, you are agreeing to use it under the updated terms. As explained above, this does not mean you have agreed to the Privacy Policy.
